Recently at QP3 ErgoSystems, we conducted an unscientific survey to learn about what people want to do yet this year, and what may influence their willingness to patronize a particular travel company, hotel, restaurant, bar, or other business.
From our survey, 21.4% were small business owners, managers, 21.4% were in the hospitality industry, and 57.1% were individual consumers/travelers. Of those responding, we received the following feedback:
93% indicated plans to eat a restaurant or bar (dine-in)
85.7% shared plans to take an overnight driving trip requiring a hotel stay
78.6% plans to patronize a local small business
50% plan to stay home/local part or all of the time
42.9% plan to take a plane trip with or without an overnight hotel stay
When asked whether they would be more likely to do business with a travel, hospitality company, or other local business that did the following, the results were telling:
14.3% are more likely to do business with a company that only did the minimum to keep customers/guests safer from COVID-19
28.6% are more likely to do business with a company that used an internal process to keep others safer from COVID-19
57.1% are more likely to do business with a company that had been audited and certified by a third-party with expertise in health and safety regarding COVID-19 best practices.
